WOMEN IN MARITIME ASSOCIATION TIMOR-LESTE (WIMA TL)
Encompasses various organizations and initiatives promoting the role of women in Vietnam’s maritime industry, including the Vietnam Maritime and Waterway Administration (VIMAWA) and the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (VMRCC)
Vision
WIMA TL envision to ensure Women in Maritime continues to be a strong partner for Government of Timor-Leste to secure and protect safety for Women and all Gender to productively contribute to national development to achieve sustainable development that benefits Timorese society inclusively in moving the country from the least developed country into a developing Maritime island State.
Mission
Advocating and promoting the IMO Gender programs on Women in Maritime activities representing Timorese women in maritime industry, nationally and internationally because we care for Timor-Leste to develop inclusively and sustainably as a maritime Island state.
Goals
Promote maritime education and training for Timorese youth to thrive in maritime industry careers and professional development for Women to contribute equally with men to effectively implements the IMO Conventions and specially in Timor-Leste on prevention of pollution from ships, in guarding ocean environment sustainably.
Objectives
Implements and supports the IMO Gender work Programs with Maritime Administration working inclusively with Government, Non-Government organizations and civil society organizations in achieving national development priorities.
